Richard Backus
Richard's financial services career spans fifty four years - and counting! After years with Citibank and Republic Bank of Dallas in New York, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Hong Kong and Singapore, he switched to the Texas market in Dallas and Houston. Then he enjoyed six years running First Bank of the Americas in New york City growing it from less than $200 million in assets to over $500 million before it was sold to a larger institution. Returning to Texas, he consulted for commercial clients; notable was his last activity as founder, shareholder and five-year CFO of Homeowners of America insurance Company, where he still is a Director. Richard graduated cum laude from the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University and earned an MBA, also cum laude, from University of the Americas in mexico City
