Hire me

Hello, my name is Richard.

I was born in a very small French-Canadian farming community in Saskatchewan, Canada. Since, I have also lived in Montreal, Calgary, and Victoria. I graduated from the University of Victoria with a BA in Political Science.

During my time in University, I had the opportunity to complete three separate work placements: working for the Navy, the Canadian Federal Government and a Global Online Marketing Company. I have also worked a lot of jobs not listed on my resume including short stints as a lifeguard, waiter, roofer, professional translator, cook, salesman and pallet production assistant, to name a few.

After graduating I lived in in Vietnam for a couple years transforming one work opportunity into another. I began as a Communications Coordinator with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and thanks to networking when I decided I needed a new challenge I transitioned into a position as a Corporate English Training Specialist. In this position, I focused on helping Avery Dennison managers with their oral and written business communications to achieve growth targets and higher service standards. My time in Vietnam was never easy; however, it was extremely rewarding.

In the last couple years, I have been fortunate to be working in sales Bambora. In my position, I work alongside integrated software partners to provide the most-customer focused payments experience in the world. Some highlights from the past year include working with the Royal Canadian Legion on digital poppy drives and cementing institutional relationships with major French-Canadian banking partners.

Outside of work, I love movement, a good book, painting, and coffee. I am also sometimes a triathlete, a weightlifter, a cook, a wannabe surfer, a climber, and an outdoor enthusiast.

I have enjoyed backpacking throughout South America, Europe, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Asia. I have also enjoyed pushing the limits of my body by cycling through countries, completing marathons, ultramarathons, triathlons, and summiting some of the tallest peaks in the world.

My passion lies in continuous improvement, facilitating understanding and consensus, and building new relationships which can help build a prosperous future. It has been an exciting and varied journey so far!
