Born in Canada, I grew up on the streets of New York to parents who were both medical doctors. As the second boy in the family, I strove to make my own mark in both sports and academics. While in college at Cornell University, I joined the National Ski Patrol working in the Catskills. I was with the NSP for 10 years, rising to the level of Senior Instructor for both skiing skills and emergency care. My love of sailing stemmed from a high school backpacking trip throughout Europe with my best friend. We rented a sailboat on Lake Zurich and got stranded in the middle of the lake with no wind. That was my "a-ha" moment for sailing and I vowed to never be in that situation again. Since then, I've sailed some of the most challenging waters in Boston, New York, San Francisco, my home port, and some not so challenging waters all across the Caribbean.

Professionally, I'm a veteran of the B2C space with experience working in small privately held, PE backed, pre and post IPO and publicly traded multi-billion dollar organizations. I'm currently consulting CFO at 3 startups in retail, wholesale and fintech. Previously, I was the CFO of Guideboat, a high-end apparel lifestyle concept centered around the gilded age of the Adirondacks Mountains, and CFO at Lolli and Pops, a retailer of candy and confections. I spent a year and a half in Columbus, OH as COO/CFO of an ecommerce company and before that, I was CFO of Kmart Apparel, a $3BN retailer of women's, men's and kid's apparel. I was instrumental in taking Restoration Hardware public as its Vice President of Finance and I've held roles in store operations, merchandising, planning, strategy and information technology.
