Richard Boardman
Richard is a specialist in Music and Development. He holds a First Class Degree in International Development, and Masters in Ethnomusicology. Richard's areas of research includes Intangible Cultural Heritage, Social and Economic Development through Creative Industries, Advocacy, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Richard has valuable experience of working in both the Charity sector and the music industry. He currently works at the Institute for Sustainability as a Project Coordinator for European-wide development programs, after recently leaving EMI Music as Assistant Project Manager in Business Development. In the past, Richard has also worked at internationally renowned independent record labels such as The World Circuit and the World Music Network. This experience in the music industry has been supported by work with NGOs in West Africa and Central America. Through his work Richard has been exploring ways to marry Development and Music. Richard aims to apply his understanding and experience of Music and Development to both Private, Governmental, and the Not For Profit sectors.
