Richard Busch, a resident of Austin, Texas, has some three decades of experience in semiconductor technology and related fields, almost all of it with IBM. Over this time, Richard Busch has shown a command of microprocessor and complex IP product design, business development and partnerships, ecosystem development, strategy, marketing, sales and business line P&L management.

Busch graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with a degree in electrical engineering before moving to Burlington, VT and later, Austin. He took a position with IBM in semiconductor process development before assuming managerial roles with the company in a number of different technical and business project areas. His performance led him to manage worldwide teams across the US, China, India, Israel, and France, among other places.

As the director of IBM’s ASIC business unit, Busch’s leadership resulted in over a billion dollars in annual sales and increased business relationships with some of the world’s leading technology and networking companies, including Cisco, Huawei, Ericsson, Brocade and many more.

After leaving IBM in 2014, Busch joined Globalfoundries, a semiconductor manufacturing company in which he was responsible for developing, acquiring and managing complex intellectual property investment portfolios. He has since gone on to create a technology and management consultancy group 'The Busch Group', serving the high tech industry.
