Over the course of his career as an audio development professional, Richard Cody of Harmonix Music Systems has demonstrated strong collaborative skills and a commitment to quality. He earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Berklee College of Music, where he became involved in creating music for video games. A contributor to the music of several award-winning games, Richard Cody became the full-time audio quality assurance (or Audio QA) professional at Harmonix in 2015.

Since that time, Richard Cody has played a key role in such company projects as Rock Band 4 and, in particular, the game’s Freestyle Guitar Solo feature and weekly downloadable songs. He works closely with designers and other professionals to ensure the quality and playability of music tracks. In a separate position as chair of Team Future LLC, he has similarly overseen all audio production for the soon-to-be-released game Black Hat Cooperative.

Outside of his responsibilities overseeing the audio content of video games, Mr. Cody has publicized original music compositions as a host of radio show Global Game Jam. Further, he has served as a middle school music teacher, in which capacity he incorporated such topics as mobile music technology and songwriting into the curriculum.
