Richard Thomas it a poet, writer and journalist living in Plymouth, UK, with both a diploma and a degree in English and Creative Writing.
His poems and haiku are published/forthcoming in journals internationally such as Orbis, Fire, Weyfarers, Neon Highway, The Coffeehouse, Reflections, Notes from the Gean, Presence, Bottle Rockets, Carousel SW, Homeless Diamonds, Venus in Scorpio, Wild Orphan and The IMPpress aswell as on the websites Clinic and Neutral Norway and in various anthologies. Richard produced the poetry e-zine Symmetry Pebbles and his editorial selection of a poem by Rodney Nelson won a Poetry Kit Award. He is now a Creative Writing Editor for Tribe – http://www.tribemagazine.org.
In 2011, his poem ‘Dig’ was shortlisted for the National Poetry Competition. Richard’s debut collection of poetry, The Strangest Thankyou, was published by Cultured Llama in November 2012. Richard has just finished writing his second collection, ‘Zygote Poems’, and is working on several other poetry projects.
Richard is also not shy from reading his poems on stage, having appeared with his poetry across the South West, including slots at The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth, Port Eliot Festival and Barnstaple Fringe Festival on his travels. He often takes to the stage with an ever-changing line up of musicians who improvise a musical backdrop for him to let his words resound upon.
