Richard Ducharme
Since 2009, Richard Ducharme has served as the acting President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board for Eastside Commercial Bank in Bellevue, Washington. Dick Ducharme has worked in this capacity for the past three years without compensation. He was initially brought on board to help the bank raise capital, as it was under a regulatory order to do so, and Mr. Ducharme successfully raised the bank's reserves by $2.5 million since accepting the position. While the Eastside Commercial Bank remains under regulatory order, its financial situation has improved so significantly that Richard Ducharme will soon pass his management responsibilities on to another executive.
After retirement from the field of government affairs in 2000, which Richard Ducharme participated in for three decades while serving a variety of clients, he became a member of several community organizations that are designed to help protect the environment. Some of these programs include the Washington Watershed Alliance, the Water Resource Inventory Area Planning Unit No. 42, and the Middle Snake River Salmon Recovery Board. Both fishing and hunting are an integral part of Dick Ducharme's personal life, and he particularly enjoys hunting for birds with his English Setters.
Richard Ducharme was granted the We Dig the Northwest Award in 1991 while working as the Co-Manager of the HJR-7 campaign in the state of Washington. This award, granted by the Utility Contractors Association of Washington, signaled Mr. Ducharme's contribution in lobbying for policies and legislation that benefited the utility construction industry in the area.
