Richard Framarin
A longtime resident of Palisades Park, New Jersey, Richard Framarin oversees equipment operations for events at the Prudential Center, a new, multi-million dollar arena located in Newark. Mr. Framarin began his impressive career after receiving an advanced education for ice arena professionals through the School of Ice Technologies in Kansas City, Missouri. During his time at the School of Ice Technologies, Richard Framarin earned recognition as an exceptional student and won the Helping Hand Award.
Additionally, he took advanced courses through the Fluke Education Partnership Program. The Fluke Corporation, the company offering this program, provides testing equipment that measures air quality. Richard Framarin furthered his understanding of air conditioning, ventilation, heating, and indoor air quality, among other subjects. Currently, Richard Framarin also oversees ice rink operations for the New Jersey Devils, a team in the National Hockey League (NHL). Drawing on the skills he acquired through advanced coursework, he ensures that the Prudential Center remains in compliance with the specific set of arena criteria established by the NHL, which governs aspects such as ice thickness and temperature control.
In addition, Richard Framarin works to control air temperature and humidity for the ice rink and arena, ensuring that attendees are comfortable in their seats. He also manages equipment operations for all events at the Prudential Center, including concerts, National Basketball Association’s (NBA) New Jersey Nets games, and Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) New York Liberty games.
Outside of his work at the Prudential Center, Richard Framarin holds membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers and serves as Shop Steward for Local 68. Richard Framarin also enjoys planning dog walks that help raise funds for cancer research, and he is an advocate of the nonprofit organization Marley’s Mission Incorporated, which provides free equine-based therapy to children who have survived traumatic events.
