Richard is the Co-Founder and the Managing Partner of Alpine Grove Partners, and currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of the Investment Committee. Richard is responsible for leading Alpine Grove’s investment initiatives and determining the strategic direction of the firm. He has invested in real estate private equity internationally for over 20 years.

Upon founding Soros Real Estate in April 1999, Richard became responsible for Soros’s worldwide real estate related investments. He subsequently spun this out to become Alpine Grove Partners. Prior to his career at Soros, Richard was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he was in charge of the European investment activities of the Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds and served as a member of the Whitehall Investment Committee.

Richard received a master’s with distinction in Business Administration, from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Political Economics, cum laude, from Williams College. Richard is actively engaged in Harvard’s Real Estate Academic Initiative and the Williams College endowment.
