Hello – I’m Richard Hughes Dip CBH, an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist who specialises in one-on-one, short term coaching sessions from my practice in the Barbican area of central London.

Research tends to provide most support for CBH in overcoming anxiety, work-related stress, low confidence, resilience building, ‘reactive depression’, (which may be associated with the loss of a job or the end of a relationship),sexual anxiety, phobias (social, experiential or object based) and habits (smoking, nail-biting, over-eating).

CBH is also an excellent tool to help us navigate turning points in our life, from student to professional, becoming a family, retirement, or what is sometimes referred to as the ‘mid-life leap’ – when we question all the wisdom and decisions we made in our 20s and 30s. It’s evidence based – thousands of clinical research studies on Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy have been published . It’s recognised as an effective treatment by the British Medical Association (BMA) and the American Medical Association (AMA), more recently by the American Psychological Association (for obesity and weight loss).
