Richard Hunt is a passionate guitarist, educator, and music mentor dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians through engaging, contemporary guitar lessons. He believes that when students can play music they already know and love—whether in a simplified form or note-for-note—they become instantly motivated and excited to learn.

Richard studied at the renowned Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), where he developed his musicianship alongside fellow students including Ed Sheeran and Newton Faulkner. His time at ACM broadened both his technical ability and creative outlook, shaped by an inspiring community of tutors and performers.

Following graduation, Richard completed a Level 4 Teaching Diploma with Rockschool before establishing his own successful private guitar teaching business. Built largely through recommendations and lasting relationships with students and families, his teaching practice has grown into a thriving career. Today, he co-runs redMUSIC, delivering inspiring and accessible music tuition to schools across South Gloucestershire.

Richard also leads the Monmouthshire franchise of The Rock Project, where he helps young musicians develop their confidence, creativity, and performance skills by playing in bands—an experience that often becomes the highlight of their musical journey. He previously spent many years as Session Manager for the Bristol franchise of The Rock Project, supporting hundreds of young musicians in developing their skills and passion for music.

Alongside his work with redMUSIC and The Rock Project, Richard has taught in a wide variety of educational settings, including delivering whole-class music lessons with SuperStars. His adaptable teaching style, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with students of all ages have made him a trusted and respected music educator.

When he's not teaching, Richard performs regularly as part of an acoustic duo, bringing his love of live music to venues across the region. Whether on stage or in the classroom, his goal remains the same: to make learning music enjoyable, inspiring, and accessible for everyone.
