Richard J. Levinson is a senior partner at Levinson Axelrod, P.A. His father, Jacob Levinson, founded the law firm in 1939 with the goal of representing everyday people who had been injured by the negligence of others. Richard, a graduate of Columbia Law School, has been practicing law since December 1956, with the exception of a two-year period between 1957 and 1958 when he was in the U.S. Army. Richard’s colleagues opine that his leadership defined the firm’s role in the community. Under his leadership, the firm grew from a two-attorney, one-office operation to a 20-attorney, eight-office operation.
