Richard H. McBee Jr.
Retired International School Principal and Writer in Hood River, Oregon
I have been been a secondary school principal and teacher for over thirty years. Much of this time has been spent in the international and local schools of South America, Africa, Europe and the U.S.
My current writing is in draft form and I am doing a lot of re-writing. The working title: "Sendero Rojo: The Path of Blood." It's an exciting historical fiction adventure of the marriage between the drug runners and the hard line communist terrorists in South America. Set in the 1980 - 90's it ties together certain events to tell a story of corruption and influence in Latin America and some of the inside workings of the DEA and others to try to stop the funding of major terrorist groups. My own experiences during 17 years of working in Latin America come through in some of the tales.
I now have 4 books published and on the Market!
My latest "The Ghosts of Ukuthula" an African adventure and action novel just out since June 2016.
If you like nonfiction Civil War books, my 2013 book, "Rough Enough," is just for you! It follows my G'Gpa with his actual letters to his sisters and diary through that war and onto the frontier of Montana and then to Deadwood South Dakota.
For shell collectors, my 2014 book was also nonfiction. Here's a complete e-book for the Caribbean from Florida to Venezuela! "Beachcomber Seashells of the Caribbean" is the best e-book for this entire subject to date.
Finally, if you want my pre-internet book from 1995, "Kalahari," you'll have to read it in paperback.
I currently live with my artistic wife, Jill in Hood River, Oregon.
My hobbies are reading, writing, skiing and orienteering.
