Richard Shannon Draper has served as a fire service instructor with Bucks County Community College for the past 16 years. With the college, Richard Shannon Draper teaches potential firefighters, officers, instructors, and inspectors, while also administering exams.

In his classes, he aims to deliver educational materials through a mix of lectures and hands-on learning. To do so, Mr. Draper sets up the classroom to ensure that it is an appropriate learning environment for the lesson. Alongside teaching in the United States, he has taught classes in Hungary and Ecuador, among other countries.

A former fire chief with the city of Redwing, Minnesota, Richard Shannon Draper oversaw 28 full-time paramedics and 30 on-call firefighters. Holding the role for three years, he maintained an extensive knowledge of firefighting science while staying up to date on emerging techniques.

Mr. Draper is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and International Association of Fire Chiefs. He earned his bachelor of science from Columbia Southern University, where he majored in fire administration.
