"When you have mastered numbers, you will in fact no longer be reading numbers, any more than you read words when reading books. You will be reading meanings." -Harold Geneen.
My name is Richard Russell and I graduated from the University of Califonia Santa Barbara with a degree in Statistics and Sociology and the ability to analyze data and translate it to English. Many people can understand numbers, but not many can articulate their meaning in a way that everyone can understand, and that is where I come in. My background in both mathematics and liberal arts has given me the unique skill set of seeing the big picture and the small details at the same time, of being able to read numbers and translate them to English, and developing relationships through strong and effective communication. I enjoy data analysis because I like being able to organize a large set of messy numbers into something clean and easy to understand. The amount of information one can pull from raw data is mind boggling. There are a million different questions that can be answered, one just must be able to see that they are there. I enjoy the intellectual pursuit of analysis and possess a passion for uncovering insight. I also love to play music, and play multiple instruments: guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and I dabble with piano. Cooking and the delicious food that comes along with it is another hobby of mine.
