Will Richards

I am junior at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Business Adminstration here at this great University. I am a finance major and a economics minor. When I am not in the class room pursuing my degree, I am busy enjoying other activites including football, baseball, and basketball.

In high school my passion for sports flourished, especially my love for football. In high school I was fortunate enough to be named quarterback for my high school team. However, this did not come easily, it took dedication. This meant hours in the gym lifting weights with my team and even more hours on the field. All this work was to improve our skills and to develop relationships on and off the field to ultimately build team comradery. Although we did not make it to the superbowl we still had a successful season.

Now as I am taking my first steps into the world of finance the lessons I learned from leading a team have become even more important. Although the skills have changed from throwing a football and recognizing defenses to more computer-based ones, the life lessons have not. Playing quarterback has taught me a multitude of lessons including: building relationships, developing trust, and being a team player. These are only a few of the lessons I will take with me as I now begin to make my foot print on a new field.
