Richard's career includes significant experience with startups, team leadership, and infrastructure management. Richard is a guru with most Linux and Open Source Software, has lead global teams of over 100 engineers, and has been featured in publications like USA Today, TechCrunch, and ComputerWorld.

Richard founded Pantek, Inc., an Expert Linux & Open Source Services company in 1995. As CEO, Richard oversaw growth including three successful acquisitions, which earned Pantek a spot on the Weatherhead 100 in 2007. Pantek was acquired by private owners in 2007 and again in 2015, again in 2017, and again in 2018.

Richard was previously the Vice President of Global Support and Professional Services for for Canonical, the makers of Ubuntu Linux, leading a global team of over 100 engineers delivering services for global clients.

Richard has previously worked as an assistant manager to the Grammy award winning Los Lonely Boys, has managed several up-and-coming independent rock bands, and has organized several independent music showcases highlighting indie rock talent.
