Richard Duszak, M.D. is Professor and Vice Chair for Health Policy and Practice in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University. He serves as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Research Fellow at the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute.
A two-term member of the American Medical Association’s CPT Editorial Panel, Dr. Duszak currently serves as Associate Editor for Health Services Research and Policy for the Journal of the American College of Radiology. His prior editorial board service includes several other medical journals as well as a daily metropolitan newspaper.
Recently named the most influential radiology researcher by the trade publication AuntMinnie and outstanding faculty mentor by his department, Duszak has been honored as a fellow of the American College of Radiology, a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology, and as the first physician fellow of the Radiology Business Management Association. His scholarly pursuits focus on health policy (particularly it pertains to medical imaging access, utilization, and payment systems) and practice management. He has authored over 200 publications and delivered over 400 invited lectures on these topics.
He previously spent nearly two decades in private practice, where he served as president of a large radiology group in his home state of Pennsylvania.
