Hello, I’m Richelle!

I’m a wife & mother living in BC, Canada. I have two beautiful kids who were both diagnosed at birth with a rare disease called Phenylketonuria (PKU). Thank you to the newborn screening test, my children were able to be treated immediately and will lead healthy & vibrant lives. PKU is completely managed through a diet consisting of medical formula, medical foods & some fruits/veggies. Both of my kids are followed by a team of doctors, nurses and dieticians at Children’s Hospital. They will never grow out of PKU and will be followed by a medical team for the rest of their lives.

Before kids I worked in the dental industry. Like most moms who get the PKU diagnosis, returning to work was quite an overwhelming thought. The most critical brain development happens in the early years. The success of the PKU child is highly dependent on the caregiver. I now after 7 years finally returned to the dental office.

I’m passionate about PKU cooking, baking and sharing PKU products. I strive to create an excellent quality of life for my PKU kids.
