Rich Meston

I used to write profiles in a stuffy, formal way, trying to present myself as the perfect professional. The problem is, that doesn't tell you who I am, so...

I grew up with computers - started programming at the age of 4, writing in assembler before 10 and writing an operating system before secondary school. I fiddle with electronics - in fact, I have a degree in it. I'm also a little bit obsessed with lasers.

I own my own company, and earn most of my money doing software consultancy, generally for embedded and telecomms stuff.

I also photograph. That's a bit of an understatement - I'm rarely seen without a camera. I love photography: live it, crave it, am addicted to it! I've been successful with landscape and nature photos (published in international press and lots of print sales), and over the last year am working much more with people - lifestyle, model shoots and weddings.

I have a gorgeous wife, 3 wonderful kids, and a varying number of cats depending on whether they've gone wandering or not.

I am also hardly ever serious.

And that's me.
