Richard Newton

Writer in London, United Kingdom

I'm a writer and entrepreneur. I've set up several businesses and advised others (big and small). Writing has become more of a thing over the last few years and I've written some bestselling books and in 2015 became the "columnist of the year" courtesy of the British Society of Magazine Editors.

I'm particularly interested in what tech, automation and artificial intelligence will mean for us as individuals and as a society.

I've published three books:

  • The End of Nice: How to be human in a world run by robots
  • The Little Book of Thinking Big (Sunday Times #1 bestseller)
  • Stop Talking Start Doing( #1 biz book at WHSmith for a record 60+ weeks)

Through Newton Principals, I've helped people and brands create and tell their stories better including BBC, Accenture and Success Factors.

I'm the co-founder of tech startups in London, Cork and Austin and an alumni of, and mentor at, Techstars.

I contribute to the FT, the Guardian, BA Business Life, Virgin and various podcasts.

I play piano hella bad. Which is to say, for the avoidance of confusion, doubt or crushing disappointment, not very well.

At all.
