Kun Yang, who goes by Rich, is just a young man who left his home country of China in 2002 and moved to Seattle all by himself to pursue his American dream through higher education.

He graduated from Seattle University’s Accounting program in 2007, and remembers those years of endless nighttime studying at Lemieux library, frequent group meetings in Pigott, and balancing being a full-time student while also working as a Chinese tutor, bookstore cashier, Bistro pizza cooker and business fraternity member.

It seems like all this hard work is finally paying off for Rich, and leading him to become who he is now: a professional accountant who just survived another crazy tax season!

Besides his job as an accountant, Rich is a new entrepreneur helping international students customize their unique study abroad experiences. He is also the treasurer on the Board of the new International Alumni Chapter, and is a friendly volunteer who enjoys giving back to his community.
