I created Catcher Media www.catchermedia.co.uk in 1997 to help promote young people's voice, creativity and confidence by using digital technology in an engaging and informative way. Our use of participatory techniques means we engage young people in fun and exciting ways which means our high quality resources can present authentic perspectives of children and young people.
We are a specialist media company offering video, web and app services. Our working methods help individuals reflect on their experiences and share these with their peers. We bring in experts to inform the discussion.
If you are looking for participatory digital media techniques that will involve young people, then we can help.
• Facilitate young people to design and create their own media that reflects their experiences and their own use of digital media and social networks, using iPads, mobile phones or camcorders.
• Develop drama or documentary videos with young people about their experiences to share with their peers, carers and professionals.
• Develop apps, or use social media or blogs with young people to spread good practice
We have worked with young people from marginalised and disadvantaged groups, including looked-after children and their experiences of bereavement and the care system; disabled young people about access to mainstream services and mental health service users about what they need from friends, school and services.
Our commitment is to promoting the voice, creativity and confidence of young people.
