Justin Rickett
Entrepreneur, Salesman, and Marketing B.A. in Greeley, Colorado
I’m a Senior Marketing Major at University of Northern Colorado. The most important thing to know about me is I’m an entrepreneur, and I desire to build value for myself and those who support me. My passion is to innovate, build, and create something that can fill a need, create jobs, and put my mark on the world. If you’re looking to hire me, you should understand that I prefer to work WITH people, not FOR people. If your seeking someone to help build a sales team, develop an effective marketing plan, or work in an industry with a constant need for innovation, I’m the right guy.
In marketing, I have a variety of interests, but my #1 passion is sales. Sales is one of the few fields one can pursue in which there is a clear and immediate correlation between what you put in and what you get back. I strongly prefer to work in an environment where I can see the benefits of the things I do, and earn the rewards for that hard work. Living the rat race, waiting for that coveted top spot, doesn’t appeal to me. I’d only consider a job not based atleast partially on commission is if it is in a field in which I want to learn, improve, and innovate, with the intention of discovering some unfulfilled need in the industry on which I could build a future business. If you know of an industry ripe for innovation, let me know.
My focus as an entrepreneur currently is on electronics repair and online sales. I run a local (referral only) repair service. In addition, I go to thrift shops, garage sales, etc. looking for good condition vintage electronics and other items that I may repair for resell on either Ebay or Amazon. I love to learn about the history and function of all sorts of items, discover niches that aren’t adequately fulfilled, and gain experience in what it takes to run a profitable business. I’m very interested in expanding into retail arbitrage, wholesale, and most importantly, Private Label. If you have information to share on your PL experiences, product development, and working with overseas manufacturers, I’d love to hear about it.
Currently, I’m interested in an internship within the Recreational/Medical Cannabis industry. Never before has there been an entire industry created from the abolition of an obsolete law, and the need for massive innovation to bring it up to modern standards is abundantly clear. I’m interested in working in B2B sales, or any position in which my job involves getting a solid grasp of the overall industry.
