A financial administrator, community developer, and intergovernmental affairs professional, Rick Hohnbaum has held the position of city manager at four cities in Oregon and three cities in Alaska. He has managed public policy development at rural cities with up to 5,200 residents, overseen budgets of up to $55 million, and managed infrastructure projects involving streets, wastewater management, and water facilities. Most recently, Rick Hohnbaum was the city administrator and planner at the city of Monroe, Oregon, where he implemented a 2040 Comprehensive Plan and secured grants for large scale public projects.

Prior to his professional life, Rick Hohnbaum studied social science at Western Oregon State and later joined Portland State University where he earned his master of public administration while serving as city councilor for the City of Yamhill. He went on to serve as city manager for the cities of Whittier and Kotzebue in Alaska, and then Reedsport, Gold Hill and Monroe. Rick Hohnbaum has also served as the Director of Human Resources at the 160-employee Lower Umpqua Hospital, a public sector hospital district.
