I have worked both locally (Europe) and overseas (Australia & New Zealand, South Africa and Middle-East), in a number of senior strategic marketing roles. My working career of 17 years spans a variety of industries, including engineering, manufacturing and professional services. Throughout my career I have continuously gained valuable experience and built a substantial skills set needed in today's fast-changing marketing environment. In my career I have overseen all marketing and communications functions, including marketing strategy development and setting up the marketing function for various organisations. My most recent roles were in a multi-brand environment, where I had to manage several brands within the main holding company. My roles have covered research and strategy through to campaign execution, control and post implementation evaluation. Throughout my career I have dealt with both ‘above-the-line’ media channels (radio, TV, print) and ‘below-the-line’ media channels (relationship / direct marketing, SMS, e-mail as well as digital, on-line and social media marketing.) These experiences have also afforded me the opportunity to work with a huge diversity of people across all spectrums. Having worked predominantly in the business-to-business marketing realm, I consider this to be main area of expertise.
I have an appetite for obtaining knowledge and like to apply what I have learnt in doing things better or differently. I tend to seek possibilities beyond what is present, obvious or known and look for creative and innovative solutions or ideas. Further to that, I can offer an organisation an entrepreneurial spirit, skill in mid to long-range planning, executive action and operational involvement in all aspects of my job. I like to think of myself as a “go-getter”, and get motivated by results therefore setting very high standards for myself. I want to know that I have made a difference in a company and like contributing to a ‘success story’.
