Rick Tomaska

Rick Tomaska is a professional coin dealer and author who, since 1981, has owned and run his own numismatics business, R&I Coins. Based in Encinitas, California, R&I Coins aims to offer collectors the finest and most affordable rare coins and sets available in today's market. Mr. Tomaska includes Kennedy and Franklin half dollars, mint state and proof quarters, dimes, nickels and cents, as well as rainbow-colored coins, and beautiful cameo coins in his extensive inventory.

Rick Tomaska is also the author of several books on numismatics, including A Guidebook of Franklin & Kennedy Half Dollars, now in its second edition, as well as a survey of cameo coins from the 1950s through the 1970s, and another volume that focuses exclusively on Franklin half dollars. Rick Tomaska prides himself on delivering exceptional customer service. Among his past successes, he has assisted clients in assembling extraordinary sets of U.S. proof coins that have received prominent placement on the websites of the Professional Coin Grading Service and the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Rick Tomaska affords his customers the opportunity to upgrade their collections on a regular basis: If a buyer purchases a piece and Mr. Tomaska obtains a higher-grade example of the same coin, the buyer has the option of using the appreciated value of the first coin as a credit toward purchasing the finer one. In addition, he offers regular specials, a coin preservation program, and professional-level coin photography.

Rick Tomaska majored in psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned his undergraduate degree in 1973. He and his wife Ilona (who is the "I" in R&I Coins) are the parents of four children. Mr. Tomaska supports the American Red Cross and his local church.
