Rienzi Chris Olivarez

My name is Rienzi Chris Olivarez, and I am a saxophone major at the University of Santo Tomas. Music has always been a big part of my life, and I feel lucky to be studying something I love. I’ve been playing the saxophone for a while, and being at the University of Santo Tomas has given me the chance to really focus on improving my skills.

Right now, I’m learning a lot about music and growing as a musician. I’m really passionate about jazz and the jazz community, and I try to spend as much time as I can working on my jazz skills. I believe that jazz is a special type of music that allows for so much freedom and creativity, and I want to be able to express myself through it. Every day, I try to challenge myself, learn new techniques, and push myself outside of my comfort zone.I've been playing with various bands to improve myself.

I know that there is always more to learn, and I enjoy the process of growing as an artist. Being part of the University of Santo Tomas has not only given me the tools I need to become better at playing the saxophone, but it has also connected me with other musicians who inspire me. I’m excited to see where this journey will take me, and I am committed to working hard and staying focused on my goals as I continue to grow in the jazz community.
