Riis Massey-Williams
Student in Old Bethpage, New York
October 3rd, 1995, A day that will live in infamy. No not because of OJ Simpson's Not Guilty Conviction. It was the day that Riis Cara Massey-Williams, the girl with a thousand names was born in Manhattan, New York to Daniel and Marla Williams.
Ever since the day of her birth Riis (pronounced like Reese) has tried to live up to her a million names. Raised on Long Island, just outside the concrete jungle of Manhattan, Riis has always dreamed of eventually living and working there since she was a child. Riis has also always been involved in extra curricular's since a child to her teenage years, whether it was painting class, acting class, piano lessons, or soccer, Riis has always had an interest in learning.
Her interest in learning brought her to SUNY Oneonta, where she is currently a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's in Science Degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Media Studies. With the world's dependence and relevance on media and technology, Riis is exploring this field to further delve into the affect on Marketing, Public Relations, and the Entertainment Industry.
Riis' interest in learning doesn't end just in the classroom. She is currently the president of her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. Being responsible of 70+ girls is no easy feat, but Riis relishes in the opportunity to have a positive affect on a massive group of women. Furthermore this position teaches her leadership skills that are hard for young women to achieve and find, and for that Riis does not take for granted.
Riis' major demands that she keep up to date with technology. Riis is proficient at Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and Search Engine Optimization, all of which she has learned from her internship this past summer. Additionally Riis knows HTML, which she learned at her job in the second half of the summer. Riis is also well versed in Final Cut Pro, something that she had to teach herself for one of her classes last semester. See Riis doesn't just learn from one experience, rather she learns something from everything that she applies herself to. Also being a millennial makes her proficient in social media, especially Facebook so she can make sure her parent's can't stalk her on it.
