I started my career as a Certified Fitness Trainer in 2008. The gym had always felt like home to me, even from a very young age of 12 years old, so I knew that it was only a matter of time before I jumped right in and started living my passion. I found that this passion grew to new heights with each client I took on, and within the last two years I have added Sports Nutrition and wellness coaching to my professional profile. I have always recognized the value of physical activity. Lifting weights made me feel strong and empowered and I had a deep desire to pass this feeling onto others. But, after the birth of my second child in 2009, I realised that great health was more than just being active. Regular physical activity is only a small portion of the health equation. I learned that if a person really wanted to reach optimal health, one had to embrace a healthy lifestyle from the inside out. In other words, optimal health begins with the core, the very central part of our being, our cells! And the best way to nourish our cells and improve our health is through balanced, clean nutrition. When I applied this simple practice of eating clean, unprocessed foods each day, the post-pregnancy weight that I had been carrying around seemed to fall right off. And in May 2011 when my son was 2 years old, I took on the challenge of competing in my first Fitness Model Competition! This was a test of my strength, discipline and courage. I surpassed all boundaries I had set for myself and walked the stage with confidence, placing 6th in my division! It was more than I could have asked for! Since then I have learned the value in setting goals and taking steps to reach them, something I coach all my clients through. Coaching is another critical factor to the equation. I strive to teach those I work with the value of making healthy decisions, balancing stress, taking time out, and committing until the end. Looking great is a side effect of loving your body, nurturing it with foods that cleanse, support and build it up, and staying active each and every day! The industry of health and wellness is growing at a rapid rate! All you need to do is look around to see how big the obesity epidemic is. In fact, it's predicted that this generation of children will NOT outlive their parents. This is such a sad situation. I strive to positively impact it by reaching out and sharing my knowledge with as many people as I can.
