Rip Davenport
AIDA Safety Freediver, Endurance Athlete, and Emergency Responder in Europe
I'm Rip Davenport.
A Royal Navy veteran, endurance athlete, AIDA Safety Freediver, water-safety professional and emergency responder.
Over the years I've found myself in a variety of environments: open water, endurance events, rescue operations, humanitarian missions, emergency-response settings and remote environments where calm judgement tends to matter more than noise.
My background includes service in the Royal Navy, prehospital emergency response, rescue swimming, water safety, humanitarian operations and complex-needs support. I've worked as a Medical First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder, Rescue Swimmer, Lifeguard Supervisor and AIDA Safety Freediver, supporting individuals and teams in situations where clear thinking and steady decision-making are essential.
Away from operational work, I've spent much of my life pursuing endurance challenges. From running the length of Sweden and ultra-distance events to long-distance finswimming projects, open-water swimming and adventure expeditions, I've developed a healthy respect for discomfort, poor weather and questionable decision-making.
I've never been particularly interested in perfection.
I'm more interested in resilience.
Turning up.
Doing the work.
Staying calm when things become complicated.
This page is simply a collection of the adventures, experiences and lessons gathered along the way.
