It is pretty amazing to be working at the University of California, Berkeley - true. But what I find even more wonderful and synchronous is our school motto: Fiat Lux, or "let there be light" which has been an ongoing mantra and theme in my life through the various roles I've played in higher education, as a fitness and yoga instructor or in my personal relationships.

Life can be stressful, but we all have a say - an actual choice - in shaping daily experiences in our professional and personal lives through our attitudes and approach. I believe that a smile can be contagious, laughter IS the best medicine and my goal is to bring more light into everything I do. Every thought, word or action leads us either more toward love (light) or fear (darkness). There's enough darkness in the world - let's shine brightly together!
