I’m a saxophonist studying at Basel Jazz school with Domenic Landolf. I grew up in Hungary and started learning clarinet at age 8. I was 14 when I started sax lessons. I then studied at the Dr. Lauschmann Gyula Jazz School in Hungary, my teacher being the great Ferenc Muck. At the moment I play several styles of music, from classical to mainstream jazz to ska. (Take a look at our ska band at www. myspace. com/dexterdoom) I find it strange when people imitate well known musicians, learning their licks at the expense of developing their own style. I play in my own style, which inevitably is saturated with Hungarian melancholy and manic happiness. And madness. I am completely narcissistic, and this is the secret of my genius. When I play, my enfatuation with myself is contagious, spreading to others. I look at others and see myself. My music seduces. ..
