A licensed pharmacist in India since 1988, Rita Patel of NJ relocated to the United States in 1989 and began her career as a pharmacy technician with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. After passing the Nabplex and FPGEC exams, she completed an internship at the same hospital while studying to obtain her New York pharmacist license. Rita Patel gained experience in positions with Duane Reade Pharmacy, Rite-Aid Pharmacy, and Walgreens before purchasing a private pharmacy in Perth Amboy, NJ.
As the owner of Shayona Pharmacy for 14 years, Ms. Patel served customers 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Committed to the highest standards of customer service, she offered free delivery of prescriptions to patients with disabilities. In recognition of her commitment to the community, Ms. Patel led Shayona Pharmacy to receive awards such as New Small Business of the Year and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Trenton NJ City Council. Ms. Patel received a bachelor of science from A.R. College of Pharmacy in India.
