Ritu Pandya

Ritu is a South Jersey residence. She has been recognized for her talents in Yoga & Breath work (Pranayama), Indian folk dancing, Batik, Henna, and Mandalas for over 25 years. She has studied Sanskrit and learned Yoga in her childhood and later from authorities of well-known institutions in India. Ritu also teaches at her yoga center ‘Happiness Within’ in Voorhees and special workshops at various yoga centers around the tri state area.

She has a great passion and many years of experience working with youths and adults teaching them the benefits of Yoga and has worked with numerous organizations throughout the area and around the world. Ritu recently returned from 2 months in Uganda working with children in the orphanages teaching them the calming & health enhancing practices of Yoga and art of breathing.

Over the years, Ritu has been the recipient of several awards and teaching grants. These include the Professional Excellence Award presented by the Council of Indian Organizations in Greater Philadelphia for her efforts toward the preservation and promotion of Indian Folk Art and Painting. Her unique creative art has been displayed in exhibitions throughout the country, including the Univ. of Tennessee, the University of Pennsylvania Museums, Newark Museum, Rutgers University, Ohio State University, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Camden & Burlington County Cultural Heritage Centers, Wheaton Village, Please Touch Museum and Discovery Museum.
Ritu is a recent recipient of Leeway grant for social change through Mandala & Movement and recipient of Community Artists Residency Training Program & folk art grant from NJ council on Arts. She is on artist in education roster. She serves on the Executive Board of NAADA Inc., an Indo-American non profit organization that strives to promote Indian arts.
