Riva R. Brown, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of public relations at the University of Central Arkansas.
She is an active member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication's Minorities and Communication Division, where she has served as the midwinter conference coordinator and student research chair.
Dr. Brown's research focuses on framing, social media and public relations pedagogy. She has presented her work at several conferences, including AEJMC, American Journalism Historians Association and Southern States Communication Association.
She serves as adviser to the Public Relations Student Society of America, UCA Chapter.
Dr. Brown previously served as a clinical assistant professor at Jackson State University, where she taught news reporting and public relations courses.
She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi's School of Mass Communication and Journalism.
