River City Environmental
In 1995, Steve McInnis acquired River City Environmental to provide waste disposal and emergency environmental response services to Portland, Oregon, and surrounding areas. River City Environmental has become the latest manifestation of Steve McInnis’ lifelong devotion to the environment. A professional within the waste-disposal field since 1973, Steve McInnis began his career with the same dedication to protecting the Earth that led him to build a greenhouse in the eighth grade.
Steve McInnis proves that environmental responsibility and financial success can coexist. Under his leadership, River City Environmental creates revenue as well as it averts environmental disasters. When hotels along the Columbia River were faced with rapidly rising floodwater, Steve McInnis protected their facilities from what could easily have become catastrophic damage. When a food company accidentally spilled large quantities of cooking oil into the local wetlands, Steve McInnis applied the extensive resources of River City Environmental to carefully clean the area with boats and vacuum trucks. River City Environmental dedicates itself to the satisfaction of its clients.
With offices open seven days a week, Steve McInnis ensures that River City Environmental’s support remains available whenever needed. Equally committed to supporting its own workers, River City Environmental completes all projects with a keen eye for the safety of its personnel. Steve McInnis leads weekly meetings to keep all of his staff fully informed on all matters relevant to each project. Steve McInnis also understands that competent work in safe surroundings requires a well-trained, educated staff.
With this in mind, Steve McInnis created River City Environmental’s continuing education program, which allows employees to take advantage of a variety of courses, from English as a Second Language to CPR training, with the cost paid by the company.
