Riviera Beach

Well established as a cultural, business, and tourist destination, Riviera Beach is a diverse community that takes pride in its year-around coastal attractions. The Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has played a vital role in renewed civic development with an upcoming project, the Municipal Marina at Marina District South. This ambitious plan pairs public and private investment partners in the creation of a 65,000-square-foot retail and office space, as well as attractive tiki-style restaurants and marine services. CRA has also spearheaded the recent top-to-bottom redevelopment of an underused seaside shopping strip into the vibrant and revenue-generating Ocean Mall and Beach Park.

Civic activity is an integral part of life in Riviera Beach, and the CRA and its partner organization, Community Development Corporation, have implemented a new program to clean and green Riviera Beach. Known as "Riviera Beach Heights in Bloom: HouseXHouse," the program paints homes using free, recycled paint provided by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County. In addition to improving local homes, the program cleans neighborhoods and maintains the site of the future community garden in the Riviera Beach Heights area. This effort will continue once a month until the program reaches its goal of painting 150 houses. Full volunteer details are accessible at the CRA Web site at http://www.rbcra.com.

Home to Florida's fourth largest container port, Riviera Beach notably facilitates 60 percent of exports to the Bahamas and provides essential products to many other Caribbean nations. All of the raw sugar produced in the Everglades region is notably shipped from the community's Port of Palm Beach. Civic leaders are dedicated to maintaining a business-friendly environment and have attracted numerous companies to join Riviera Beach's robust light-industrial economic base.
