Ronke Jegede
AI Governance Architect in London UK
Ronke Jegede is an AI Governance Architect and the Founder of Cardinal AI Systems — a UK-registered AI governance company that builds compliance frameworks and operational governance systems for regulated professional services firms across the UK and Nigeria.
With a law degree, a Chartered Governance qualification from the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland, Harvard Business School Leadership, and 30 years of corporate governance experience, Ronke sits at the intersection of legal literacy, governance architecture, and AI deployment.
She has built and deployed over 40 live AI platforms across government, financial services, healthcare, oil and gas, legal, and enterprise — including Nigeria's first sovereign AI tourism intelligence system for Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, and an AI policy framework for the Office of the Executive Governor of Lagos State. Many of her most consequential deployments operate under NDA.
Ronke's governance work spans three regulated sectors in the UK — law firms facing SRA Code obligations, accountancy and audit firms navigating ICAEW guidance and UK GDPR, and healthcare and care providers operating under CQC and NHS DSPT frameworks. For EU-facing organisations, she provides EU AI Act compliance readiness ahead of the August 2026 enforcement deadline.
She is the author of four published AI governance intelligence briefings — covering SRA AI expectations, shadow AI in law firms, agentic AI governance, and EU AI Act obligations for UK professional services firms — published through SovereignBrief, her policy intelligence platform.
Her earlier career in corporate governance, strategic communications, and reputation management — including four published books on organisational accountability — forms the foundation of her approach to AI governance. AI governance is fundamentally about how organisations account for algorithmic decisions to regulators, clients, and boards. She spent 20 years helping organisations build systems that could withstand public and regulatory scrutiny. She now builds those same systems for AI.
Ronke is based in London. She is available for fractional AI Governance Advisor engagements, interim Responsible AI Lead roles, and fixed-scope 30–90 day governance programmes with UK law firms and regulated organisations.
