I have spent the previous eight years as a Staff level Architect and member of Technical Operations Sr. Staff with VMware. During the final three years I spearheaded the VMware on VMware program, created to build a showcase of VMware solutions deployed internally to run VMware's day-to-day business as our customers would. The program produced a live environment, built and maintained in collaboration with VMware IT Production and Technical Operations staff, which customers could see, feel and touch. My goal, for each release, was to be in production before the code was GA..

As employee number 800-ish I had the opportunity to build several teams as VMware grew, including System Integration, Configuration Management, Internal Tools and Global Engineering Technical Operation teams. The latter of which, was responsible for the design, architecture, implementation and user experience of the VMworld “Hands on Labs”.

My background includes 10+ years of System Administration and Technical Operations, supporting R&D organizations at Roche Bioscience, AMD and Tropian Inc. When I joined VMware in 2005, it was the beginning of a new era in computing and I truly believe that the time has come around again.
