RJ Papaleo

I've always aimed at bringing about the collision of abstraction and realism in my work. For example, I might place a realistic form in an abstract space. Or, I might arrange realistic forms in an abstract fashion. I might even simplify an realistic image all the way to the point where it is barely holding on to the qualities that make realistic before becoming abstract. I take as many different roads as I possibly can and am always eager to take them again and again. My system is pretty common : I come up with an idea, jot it down, then save it for later when I have the materials to bring it to substance. It may take me 6 hours to bring the idea to life, it may take me 6 weeks - I like it that way though. It changes things up and sometimes births new ideas. I really don't have a certain style or specific medium I isolate myself to because I want to use whatever it takes to best express that idea I had from the very beginning. It may make things random or unpredictable, but what I love about art is that there is always an invitation for that - and I gladly RSVP.
