Robie Wood
Education Robie graduated from the Yale University School of Architecture in 2001 with a Master's Degree in Architecture. At Yale, Robie was a recipient of the James Gamble Rogers Fellowship Award for excellence in design and academics. Upon graduation he was awarded the Samuel G. Fogelson Prize for design. During his time at Yale, Robie studied under esteemed architects Deborah Berke and Demetri Porphyrios. Robie graduated from the University of Virginia in 1999 with a B.S. in Architecture with high honors. Upon gradution, he was awarded the 'Z' Society Award for graduating at the top of his class. Work Experience After graduating from Yale, Robie worked for the internationally renowned firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) in New York City from 2001-2006. During his time there he worked on the design of some of the firms' most distinguished projects including the 1000 foot Comcast Center skyscraper in downtown Philadelphia and the Master Plan for the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Robie was the lead architect for One Crescent Drive, the first office building at the Navy Yard, which received LEED Platinum status from the U.S. Green Building Council. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection recently recognized One Crescent Drive as the "highest-performing" building in Pennsylvania. Current Work In 2006 Robie formed Robie J. Wood Architects, LLC (RJWA) in Cranford, NJ. RJWA has completed several residential and commercial projects in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Most notably, RJWA began the "Eco-Cape" project, a residential design-build project that utilizes various technologies to maximize energy independence. The project was featured in the Star-Ledger and the Cranford Chronicle. Since 2009, RJWA has been located in Garwood, NJ.
