Otherwise known as Bec.

First year Masters of Arts (Writing and Literature) student at Deakin University. My interest lies in developing creative and professional writing skills that will lead to output via the course and personal avenues.

Literary fiction and personal-style non-fiction are my go to reading genres and will be so for my writing. Questions of everyday hope and perseverance of life are in my backpack to be unpacked, as I explore the landscape in cold and warmth. Two books have lived with me since buying in 2000 – The Fall by Albert Camus and The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald. Pulled off my bookshelf many times since purchase, both hold up a challenge to capture the essence of life and the battles and glories we encounter along the way. Climbing Everest might be easier?

Librarian has been my work identity for the past eight years and continues to be so part-time while forming a new writing and literature persona. Experience includes academic and public libraries, with the community as the driving force to my work. My current position is Technology Librarian at a public library, administering all things technology across the Library Service and my previous position at a TAFE centred around the Library’s role in teaching and learning. A lucky soul gets to work in a Library and I am glad to be one of them.
