Rachel Kemmerle is a graduate student in the M. Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education program at Arizona State University. She is currently seeking employment with the university, but has had various professional experiences with transition-age youth with disabilities. Most recently, Rachel was the Program Director of Spectrum College Transition Program, a nonprofit residential transition program for college students with Asperger’s syndrome. Rachel coordinated daily operations of the program, counseled students, and managed a team of 5 residential directors. The students enrolled in the program attended Scottsdale Community College and Phoenix College. Prior to moving to Arizona, Rachel was the Program Coordinator of an employment program for adults with autism and Asperger’s syndrome, particularly youths who were transitioning out of high school.

Rachel attended the University of Delaware for her undergraduate education, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services, with a concentration in Administration and Family Policy. She also had two minors, one in Disabilities Studies and one in Political Science. Rachel had the opportunity to study abroad to Ghana, UAE, Nepal, Thailand, and Hawaii to study international disability issues. While Rachel was an undergraduate student, she was a Resident Assistant, served on the boards of the Resident Student Association and National Residence Hall Honorary, and was a representative in the Delaware Undergraduate Student Senate and the Faculty Senate. Rachel loved holding various leadership positions on campus and getting involved in student affairs, which has led her to pursue the Higher Education degree today.
