Rebecca Thompson

I am a junior at Plymouth State University working towards a Bachelor in Science for Environmental Science and Policy, with a Minor in Sustainability. I will be completing this degree in May of 2015. I am also on the New England Youth Coalition Board as a Youth Leader, for foster care. I have experience co-teaching for the Division of Youth and Family services, as well as giving formal presentations. I have been experience attending conference calls, facilitating the calls and working in a collaborative group towards a common goal.

I am a very hard working individual who doesn't know the meaning of the word fail. I am clever, smart and resilient. I excel at any task given to me, and I always strive for more than perfection.

I have lots of work experience, most of it working in retail. However, working in retail has improved my interpersonal skills which has allowed me to branch out into co-teaching classes for the Division of Youth and Family Services. During school, I worked for the Library (Lamson Library). Through this job, I have learned organisation skills, as well as how to mend books and fix shelves. Currently, I work for the State of New Hampshire, running the New Hampshire Youth Resources page. As the Facebook Page Manager, I have learned how to make Posts, reply to comments and messages. Working with the page has taught me how to take a small page and turn it into something bigger, collecting Followers and allowing people to interact in a safe and productive way.

The New England Youth Coalition is a group dedicated to helping foster Youth in New England. I am on the Education Committee within this group. With Monthly calls, we connect and work together, making Public Service Announcements centered towards Foster Youth to find resources for secondary education. Working on this Committee had taught me how to work in a profession environment with others to work for a goal that I truely believe in.

Please feel free to email me with any questions, I would be more than happy to answer anything.
