Lee Walden

I have pursued careers that enabled me to effect change –change in business outcomes, change in employee development, change in society, and change in people’s lives. For over 20 years, I have made every effort fruitful in developing caring, service-oriented employees who connect on a personal level with every contact. I am proud of assisting numerous employees to reach their potential, often realized in promotions, sometimes simply excelling in their current role, but always facilitated through a genuine care for their success and life experiences. It is in this vein of compassionate servitude that I decided nursing provided a more direct and effective connection to people through its patient relationship approach. My mother suffered from Type 2 diabetes, sciatica, a herniated disc, hypertension, depression, and resultant obesity from inability to exercise properly. I assisted with daily hygiene, toileting, nutritional meal preparation, grocery shopping, healthcare appointments, and transportation. My partner of 18 years developed progressively worsening severe pain in his temple and across his cheek about 2 ½ years ago, including intermittent myasthenia resulting in falls and cognitive and memory problems. He has Trigeminal Neuralgia as well as Multiple Sclerosis. Increased pain and difficulties over the months led to disability. I have been his caregiver, administering injections, providing transportation, assisting with surgery recoveries, and cooperating in his quality of life needs. I have learned compassion, sacrifice, and optimism for patient outcomes, while understanding the eventualities of patients’ conditions. Having gained invaluable insight into patients’ psyche as they endure great odds, I have inexorable communication skills, connec-ting on a personal, understanding, and caring level. My goal is becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I have immense mental health interest, observing counseling and pharmaceutical's positive influence on healthy lifestyles of coping. Deep-rooted connections to caring for children through raising my grandchildren, Pediatrics is certainly of great interest. My greatest career lean currently is Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychological Counselor, a relationship of primary caregiver to the most diverse patient population, promoting their physical, mental, and emotional health through my expertise and referrals to specialty experts.
