Rooben Mathiarlagan is an English graduate with an interest to enter the field of marketing. He is also an aspiring writer with a niche in creative fiction. Rooben also has working experience in the customer services, education and military sectors.

Rooben has travelled extensively throughout his life within Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania. He has an interest in experiencing various cultures and meeting people from different walks in life. This has inspired him to undertake a postgraduate degree in Postcolonial Studies which allowed him to further his interests in the literature from around the world. He is also fluent in Tamil. He can converse in Basic Malay and Malayalam, and is currently brushing up his conversational skills in the French language.

During his free time he enjoys going to the theatre and the Opera, especially ones composed by Wagner and Puccini. He is willing to accept freelance writing assignments in literature, travel, contemporary culture and fine dining. He is also currently in the process of completing a novel.
