I am originally from the warm country of Zimbabwe where I attended St George College in Harare. After completing my A2-Levels I decided to take a gap year before going to university and applied for a job in a local law firm as their IT Technician.
This gap year turned into two years before I relocated to the UK to the quaint town of Chesterfield where I secured a position working at a local retail store as a technician which helped me develop my communication & customer
service skills.
I decided I was no longer challenged by this role and turned my attention back to applying to university. I applied to and was accepted to do a BSc (Hons) in Computer & Network Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.
This was a four year sandwich course with the third year being an industrial placement to give us some experience in our relevant industry. I was successful in securing a position working with IBM in technical presales. On completion of this placement I returned to university where I achieved a 1st with honours.
After graduation I accepted a position working for Citrix UK as a test engineer, I cut my teeth working on App Orchestration which earned me a promotion to Senior Test Engineer. I moved to the US in 2014 where I am now working on the upcoming Citrix Workspace Cloud and for which I won an award for Improving Speed, Quality and Operational Efficency for a tool that I wrote called Pathfinder.
