Ryan Murphy

I'm originally from Scotland (near Stirling to be exact). I moved to Ireland in Sept 2008 to work for Blizzard as a Game Master and then moved to Paris to work for Wargaming.net in May 2012 where I took up the role of English Community Coordinator. In October 2013 I then became a Community Manager supporting Wargaming.net across all of it's products such as World of Tanks, World of Warplanes and World of Tanks Xbox 360 edition. To the Wargaming.net community I'm known by my forum and in-game name "Ectar". I'm also known to my community for my very strong Scottish accent which hasn't changed much since I left Scotland. It always gets complimented which is something I'm pretty proud of.

I've been working in customer service & support for over 12 years now. Sectors I've worked in have been mobiles phones, pensions and investments and then online gaming. Working in the games industry is amazing and I couldn't work in another sector to be honest. The people you interact with on a daily basis are awesome each day brings something new.

In my personal life I love my rock and blues rock music. My favourite all time band is the Kings of Leon and I also listen to The Black Keys all the time. I'll be honest I totally love blues infused rock music. I bought myself a bass guitar a few years ago but still haven't got round to learning how to play it properly. Someone needs to give me lesson sometime! Since getting the guitar I've noticed I enjoy trying to pick out the bass tracks on songs. I blame the movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World for this obsession. I also love anything mecha related, since childhood I was obsessed with cartoons and toys like Transformers, M.A.S.K and Centurions. Nowadays I'm hooked on things like Gundam, Macross, Pacific Rim and Ironman.
